Visite-dégustation des Halles Sainte-Claire
Calling all heritage-loving gourmets! Start by listening to the guide's explanations of the history of the building and its surroundings, before sampling delicious local produce prepared by Halles merchants.
The tasting tour begins with an introduction to the history of the halles and their neighborhoods. This includes the history of the former convent of the Poor Clares, which occupied the site of today's halles, as well as that of Place Sainte Claire and its surrounding buildings. The guide describes the construction and interesting architecture of the halles, built in 1874.
The second part of the tour consists of a discovery of the various stalls and local and regional products sold in the halles, followed by a tasting session offered by one of the merchants.
Tastings are based on the day's arrivals. This tour is organized in partnership with the Halles Sainte-Claire merchants.
