The 1000 m of the Col de la Morte

  • Cycling sports
  • Cycle tourism route

This is a particularly difficult ride in the shade with a 1,000 m climb over 15 km.

The ride starts in Séchilienne, on a quiet and narrow road that meanders through a beautiful forest that stays cool all day. Ideal in hot weather!
It takes you up to the La Morte pass, between mountain pastures of the Grand-Serre and the wilder Taillefer foothills.
A small resort, Alpe du Grand Serre stretches across the plateau, perfect for a pitstop before descending on La Mure or Valbonnais.
Possibility to carry on climbing up to the Poursollet Lake in summer, when the road is clear.
