The Fiery Fountain Trail

  • Pedestrian sports
  • Hiking itinerary

If the destination is indeed a hot spot, the immediate proximity of the brook that accompanies us all along the descent in the forest justifies its freshness and makes it a pleasant and amusing family stroll.

Route details

From the Fontaine ardente sign (alt. 700 m), head in the direction of the Fontaine ardente, to the left of the meadow. The outward journey is downhill and presents no route difficulties. There is only one path. However, you'll need to follow a few yellow and green signs. Along the way, you pass two chicanes that prevent pets from roaming freely in the wilderness and, after a flight of steps, you arrive at the Fountain of Fire. The return journey takes the same route as the descent. Remember to bring a lighter and a piece of paper in case the fountain is extinguished. In this case, it's best to let an adult light the flame.

Points of interest:
The fountain of fire, from which flammable gases emanate.
