Adult heritage orientation course
Situated in the Ainan valley, St-Geoire-en-Valdaine is an ideal location for historical, sporting and gourmet walks. Use your map to find the signposts that have been installed near the church and the seven castles.
On each marker, a clip will allow you to punch the box corresponding to the number of the marker. Once you've found the marker, the information will tell you more about the place.
Happy discovering!
The walk starts from the Combe Versoud car park. You'll then head for the Royal Abbey of Saint-André, which now houses the town hall, before passing through the châteaux of Cabarot, Clermont, which was the castle of the local lords from the Middle Ages until the Wars of Religion, and La Rochette, before finally observing the château de Longpra, which dominates the village at the end of its avenue lined with majestic trees.
