Saint Marie Church - Notre Dame de Mésage
It’s quite a surprise when you enter the small cemetery of Sainte-Marie Church... the bell tower leans just like the Tower of Pisa!
The church of Sainte-Marie or Notre Dame features a single, carpentry-framed nave leading to a vaulted apse.
Note the alternating materials of white with alabaster and ochre with tuff. The naively sculpted alabaster capitals are also striking. The interior also holds a surprise: the bell tower stands on two pillars that block the view between the choir and the nave.
