Atelier de reliure Franck Michel
Since 2001, Atelier Franck Michel has been operating from premises that had been home to the same workshop since 1932. The "Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant" (Living Heritage Company) label has been awarded to the company, which produces all types of bindings as well as conserving and restoring all types of graphic documents.
Established in Grenoble city center since 2001 in premises where the bookbinding trade has been practiced since 1932, Atelier de Reliure Franck Michel is a four-person company, each of whom has complete responsibility for the work to be bound, before collective verification. It offers the following services:
- classic binding, half-stitched and standard, for all types and formats;
- creative binding ;
- binding of administrative and library documents.
- conservation/restoration of all types of graphic documents, posters, cadastral plans, prints, paravents, parchments, tracings, newspapers...
- conservation/restoration of bindings and cartonnage
- paper treatment of books (disinfection, washing, deacidification, sealing, sizing, lining, etc.)
- packaging for preventive conservation of documents (boxes, cases, mylard sleeves, etc.)
The workshop was awarded the "Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant" label in 2010. The EPV label is awarded to companies with a rare and precious know-how of excellence and/or a remarkable heritage. For document security, L'Atelier de Reliure has wooden shutters with three-point locks approved by our insurance company, an alarm system and a fireproof strongbox.
