Discover mountaineering: Pic de Bayle
The magical world of high Alpine peaks!
The Pic Bayle is the highest point of the Grandes Rousses Massif at 3,465m and is a summit within relatively easy reach. The ascent is perfect for a first mountain climb, involving crampons on the glacier and a rocky ridge to finish, with the added bonus of a magnificent 360° panoramic view. The ascent does not involve any technical difficulty and is accessible to all good hikers (from 12 years old).
However, you must be in good physical shape. If you have any questions or doubts, please contact us.
The route is subject to snow cover, so other climbs may be proposed if the conditions are not suitable.
Equipment provided: technical stuff (harness, ice axes, crampons and helmet).
Equipment you must bring: hiking boots with rigid uppers (available for rent from "La Montagne Sport" in Bourg d'Oisans) + trousers + windbreaker or fleece + thin gloves + hat + sticks - + backpack with water (min 1l/pers.) + picnic + sun cream.
Once you've made your reservation, the guides' office will contact you to confirm the climb and finalise the organisation of the outing.
