Gite Flore
This lovely furnished accommodation is located on the first floor of the former school of Villard Notre Dame. A lawn surrounds the gite, offering views over the Aiguilles d'Arves and the Grandes Rousses.
Apart from a few houses and apartments that residents choose to rent out, Villard-Notre-Dame has no privately-run accommodation, such as a hotel or inn. A few years ago, the municipality therefore decided to provide self-catering gites at a reasonable cost for holidaymakers wishing to stay in the village, mainly during the holiday season.
INSIDE
This comfortable gite sleeps 4 to 6 guests and comprises a lounge with a double sofa bed and an open-plan kitchen, a bedroom upstairs with one double bed and bunk beds, a shower and WC.
NEARBY ACTIVITIES
-Summertime: There are so many things to do in this magnificent setting, such as hiking to waterfalls, a circular loop to see the various crosses nearby or the Vallon du Rochail, which is quite a demanding walk, but you are rewarded with a magnificent panoramic view over the Ecrins. For cyclists, the road up to Villard-Notre-Dame is to be tackled at least once in a lifetime. With its heart-stopping drops into the valley and dark tunnels, it's an unforgettable experience.
-Wintertime: Icefall climbing is popular in the Rochail circus and ski touring can also be enjoyed starting from the village.
- Route des Savoir-Faire: You can also visit Marieke's "Terra Rêve" sculpture studio and try your hand at self-hardening clay sculpture.
