Circuit historique de Voreppe
A beautiful walk through the town of Voreppe, discovering its remarkable sites. A historical and heritage trail accessible to the disabled.
The streets and neighborhoods of Voreppe still bear witness to the town's history:
The historical tour highlights the various stages in the town's development from the 12th century to the present day, as well as local heritage features such as old houses, pigeon lofts and fountains, the 12th-century Romanesque church, the 17th-century château de la Grande Rue, both listed as historic monuments, and the 19th-century church of Saint Didier, listed on the supplementary inventory of historic monuments.
The tour features educational, fun and interactive signposting at key points, with QR codes for further information on certain subjects.
Guided tours are available for groups.
Departure point: Roize parking lot, Quai du Docteur Jacquin.
The road to the Monastère de Dominicaines-Notre Dame de Chalais (listed as a Historic Monument) leads to the Abbey, founded in 1101, whose church, situated on one of the superb balconies of the Chartreuse massif, is a fine example of Chalaisian Romanesque art, close to early Cistercian art.
