Step 1. Tour of the Carmelite Convent
Overlooking the Isère Valley, at the foot of the Vercors Mountains, the Carmelite Convent and the ruins of the 14th-century Dauphin’s Palace form a heritage site listed as a Historic Monument. Beautifully restored in 2009, the site houses a heritage exhibition on the history of the Dauphins and the Carmelites. The unique atmosphere of the Couvent des Carmes extends outdoors with its light-filled courtyard, its medieval-inspired garden and its conservation orchard featuring 230 rare and ancient fruit trees.
