ITINERARY
After parking in the village of Ornon, head toward the Terres Froides parking lot. The trail begins in the village, passes by the church, and continues along a path toward the parking lot.

Once you reach the Terres Froides parking lot, follow a trail for 700 m to L’Airette.

From L’Airette, head toward La Buffe. The trail climbs steeply through the alpine pasture, offering a superb view of the Taillefer on one side and the Col d’Ornon and Villard Reymond on the other.

Once you reach La Buffe, head toward La Combe du Collet. Enjoy a superb view during the descent of the village of Oulles, with the Grandes Rousses in the background and La Meije on the other side.

Once you reach Combe du Collet, you can choose to make a detour to the village of Oulles (30 min round trip, an additional 2 km round trip from Combe du Collet).

Otherwise, continue toward Puy d’Oulles, where you’ll take the forest trail all the way there.
You’ll see slate-roofed houses that are now in ruins, as the hamlet has been abandoned because it’s not accessible by road.

From this point, begin a steep descent with quite a bit of open space on one side, still through the forest, to Clot de Barme.

From Clot de Barme, head toward La Palud. You’ll need to walk along the road to get there (10 min).

From La Palud, it’s the final climb back to Ornon.

This hike takes place in a pastoral area; herds and guard dogs may be present.
In alpine pastures, please adjust your behavior accordingly: keep your dog on a leash, close gates, do not touch water sources, and give herds a safe distance to ensure respect for the shepherds’ work and the herds’ needs.
