Accès avec voiture toute l'année sauf l'hiver. EN HIVER : L'accès aux cabanes l'hiver, se fait uniquement en raquettes à neige, en skis de randonnée où à pied du parking "Gîte du Chat Botté, (situé à 40 minutes à pied des cabanes) par la route forestière. EN ÉTÉ, en voiture : arrivés au village de Saint-Pierre-de-Chartreuse, prenez la direction de Saint-Pierre-d'Entremont par la D512. Sortez du village. À 1,6 km, prenez à droite direction les Perriches, jusqu'au hameau des Essarts. Pensez à vous munir d'une lampe frontale, car le chemin d'accès n'est pas éclairé, et à venir bien chaussés.Accès sans voiture "Depuis Grenoble, ligne Transière T40, arrêt Plan de Ville.
