Following the debris flows of 20/06/2024, access to La Bérarde is strictly forbidden by prefectoral decree.
The chalet is located in the heart of one of the largest massifs in the Alps, in the Ecrins National Park.
Many generations of mountaineers have visited the village of La Bérarde in the wake of Pierre Gaspard who made the first ascent of La Meije. This comfortable and cosy chalet is an integral part of this unique village. You can leave your car behind and indulge yourself in walking, climbing, skiing or just relaxing.

Réservation - Les réservations se font par téléphone, par mail ou via le site internet.
Il est nécessaire de réserver au moins 24h à l'avance avant de monter au refuge.
En cas d'annulation, prévenir par téléphone au plus tard la veille.
Les annulations sur internet sont gérées par le client au minimum 72 h avant afin que les arrhes soient restituées.

Depending on snow conditions, the road may be closed to traffic in the winter between Champhorent and La Bérarde, and as a consequence, the hamlets of Les Etages and La Bérarde may not be accessible by car. The road opens towards the end of March when the Chalet de la Bérarde reopens for the ski-mountaineering season.
