Take a deep breath on this trail going through ferns, a magnificent meadow and the Prémol forest!

This enchanting trail takes 4 hours to complete (8 km and 250 m ascent), but with a risk index of 4.

Park at the Vernon parking lot, walk down to a water reservoir and then up to the military buildings. Take a forest track that leads to a clearing among the ferns, known in local dialect as "place des feuges".

Cross the Vernon stream, with its walls transformed into a tumultuous torrent, via a small footbridge. Follow the path, taking care to avoid the steep slopes below. Pass through a forest track before reaching the magnificent meadow of Pré Gaudet, where you can stop for a picnic near the forest cabin.

Continue along the path until you cross a stream at a beautiful little waterfall. When you see the Boulac hut, you're halfway along the trail. Climb up through the woods until you find a level path that leads to a tarmac road. Don't hesitate to take the time to visit the Recoin arboretum along the way, as well as the Chapelle Notre Dame des Neiges.

Before you reach the departure point, take time to visit the Maison du Patrimoine et de l'Environnement and its garden with its educational panels on flora and fauna.
