Circuit pédestre des gardes - 5h - Départ Les Seiglières
A large part of the circuit, entirely in the woods, follows a path created by rangers to facilitate forest management work.
Take a stroll through the forest on the Circuit des Gardes!
This magnificent balcony trail winds and undulates at an altitude of around 1,250 metres. It is 12 km long and takes 5 hours to climb the 420 m difference in altitude. Be cautious: some rocky sections can be slippery in wet weather.
Park at the Auberge des Seiglières and start the circuit in the undergrowth on a wide, open path, then climb into the woods. Walk along a number of forest tracks.
Go down the forest track where you will find a curiosity along the way: the 44-metre-high President Tree.
From a clearing, it will be possible to take a variation that shortens the route, otherwise descend to the Carrière crossroads, which takes you to a wide forest track.
As you leave the woods, take the path through a meadow to a panoramic orientation table. Take time to take in the beautiful views of Grenoble, Saint-Martin d'Uriage, the Vercors and the Chartreuse. Descend the path back to Les Seiglières.
