Col de Porte - mountain pass
A route through the Chartreuse range forests, largely through the impressive gorges of the Guiers Mort.
The Col de Porte can be climbed from the western flank of the Chartreuse Massif via the Gorges du Guiers Mort from St-Laurent-du-Pont. The climb is fairly long, but a succession of bridges and tunnels will help you pass the time.
You can also make a detour to the famous Grande Chartreuse convent.
Route details
Starting from Saint-Laurent-du-Pont, take the the D520b to Saint-Pierre-de-Chartreuse then the D512 to Col de Porte.
