Collet orienteering course – children

Map & Question to discover the village on a funny way

Want to discover the Espace du Collet from a different perspective?

With family or friends, explore this natural site and its surroundings on one of the orienteering courses at Espace du Collet. Take in your surroundings, find the checkpoints and discover parts of the site beyond its busiest area, at your own pace.

How does orienteering work?

Using your map, look for natural and man-made features around you (a lone tree, a rock, a bench, a signpost, etc.) to find the checkpoints, marked with circles on the map.

The starting point is marked with a red triangle. You must visit the checkpoints in the specified order, but you're free to choose your own route between them.

At each checkpoint, punch your map using the red punch attached to the wooden post. Check that the marks on your map match the symbols shown on your leaflet.

A few tips to help you find your way

Throughout the course, check your position by identifying features you can see around you on the map, such as buildings, paths, clumps of trees, signposts and junctions.

Once you've found and punched the final checkpoint, return to the starting point to complete your course.

Over to you!
