Crossing the Gerbier ridges

The traverse of the Gerbier ridges is an excellent alternative to the ascent of Mont Aiguille.
It can also be a logical follow-up to complete a WE or continue to progress.

Between heaven and earth, between town and Vercors, the traverse of the Gerbier ridges is never very difficult, but the emptiness is omnipresent. The famous comb and razor passages must be crossed to reach the very attractive summit of the Gerbier.
This climb is perfect for learning how to make your first abseil, how to use a moving belay and how to place your first belay devices.
It's a magnificent and extremely varied loop, which I usually do from Prélenfrey or the Soldanelle refuge.
In winter, this traverse is sometimes possible depending on snow conditions.
