One-day bike expedition (41km) on the ViaRhôna! Between Ain and Isère, connect exceptional sites: Roman remains of Sault-Brénaz, alleys of Saint-Sorlin and villages of character. Spectacular arrival at the Caves of La Balme. Sport & Culture!

Go for a real cycling adventure between river, cliffs and history! This 41 km route (difficult level) is ideal for a full day of discovery from the Bike Space on the ViaRhôna.

A journey through time and water:

Sault-Brénaz, city marinière: Observe the docks to feel the history of the river. For enthusiasts, a detour to the heights reveals the remains of a Roman theater (conciliabulum) 2000 years old.

Villages of Character: * Cross Saint-Sorlin-en-Bugey, medieval jewel with streets full of roses.

Discover Vd'ueu, a picturesque village nestled between the cliffs of L'Isle Crémieu and the Rhône, renowned for its preserved heritage (castles, ice house, etc.).

Final Destination: Les Grottes de La Balme: Leave your bike for an underground immersion of about 1h30. This exceptional natural site reveals its mysteries: stalactites, stalagmites, natural labyrinths, underground lake and its famous colony of bats, emblems of the place.

Practical information: The itinerary alternates between the serenity of the banks of the Rhône and the discovery of authentic villages. Plan the day to fully enjoy the visits and panoramas offered by this wild portion of the ViaRhôna.
