Immerse yourself in the world of opera through twelve iconic heroines and their stage costumes. An invitation to explore some of opera’s most memorable female characters.

A central figure in the world of opera, the opera heroine embodies, in turn, passion, rebellion and sacrifice. From the flamboyant Carmen to the tragic Tosca, from the pure Norma to the ambitious Lady Macbeth, these heroines have spanned the centuries, bringing to the stage the great archetypes of the female gender. The costume, by revealing or concealing, by enhancing or constraining, becomes an extension of these heroines’ dramatic destinies. The exhibition will take visitors on a journey through the lives of eleven iconic heroines.

Maison Ravier has been awarded the Accueil Vélo label. It has all the necessary facilities for cycle tourists visiting the museum (secure storage, bike racks, etc.).
