Fountains of Brangues

  • Historic site and monument

In 1874 the village had twelve fountains and a pond which served as a watering hole. They were all designed by Monsieur Brissac and supplied with water from the village of Arandon.

Only the fountains of Brieux, Le Pavé (two fountains), Le Martin, La Verratière, La Charrière and Tours still exist, along with those on the public square and opposite Ozéa farm.
The other three have disappeared: one in Brieux (the corner of Sottizon park wall), one in La Pomatière (the lawn at the Merloz/Bertulessi roundabout), and one on the Groslée road (outside the Ducarre farm).
