From Méharie to Paradis
The meadows overlooking La Mure offer the opportunity to relax in a green space, while admiring the nearby peaks such as Obiou.
Departure: La Mure car park - La Gare
Journey :
Departure from La Mure station. Walk along the mountain in a southerly direction to the road, cross it to take the footpath which runs along the river "La Jonche" to the media library.
Reach the town hall by taking the stairs to the right of the media library.
Once at the town hall, turn right towards the castle (rue du Jeu des Quilles). Once at the castle, take the street that goes down (Auguste Vial), until you reach a stop sign. Cross the road and take the path on the right, near a cross, in the direction of Méharie (for about 2 km).
Once at the Méharie farm, take the path on the right towards Prunières and be sure to close the gate behind you. Then go down to the river and cross the footbridge: highlight of the walk!
Then go up the hill to the village of Prunières.
When you get to the village of Prunières, take the path towards "Le Somme". At "Le Somme", leave the hamlet of Simane on your right and continue your road towards Reberton.
Then continue on the path towards the place called "Le Paradis".
You can then access the summit of Cimon (about 300 m).
The return is done by the same route: go down the same path as on the outward journey which will lead you directly to La Mure station.
Route details
Departure from La Mure station. Walk along the mountain in south direction to the road, cross it for taking the pedestrian path along the 'Jonche" river to the mediathèque.
Join the city hall by using the stairs at the right of the médiathèque.
When you arrived at the city hall, turn right towards the castle (rue du Jeu des Quilles).
When you arrived at the castle, take the descending street ( rue Auguste Vial) until you reach a Stop panel.
Cross the road and take the path on the right, next to a cross, towards the "Méharie" on 2 kms.
Once you arrived at the Méharie farm, take the right path towards Prunières et do not forget to close the portal behin you ! Walk down to the river andcross the footbridge (one of the highest moment of the walk). Climb the hill until Prunières village.
Arriving at the village, takee the path towards "Le Somme". There, keep the Simane hamlet on your right handet keep going on to Reberton. Follw the path towards "Le Paradis".
You can then reach the Cimon summit (300m)
Way back is the same itinerary : walk down the path you did for coming to reach directly the station of La Mure.
