Grand Tour du Mont Aiguille en bivouac - Alizane
Mont Aiguille: a mythical mountain conquered in 1492, marking the beginning of mountaineering. We'll do a 2-day tour with overnight bivouac, passing over the Vercors High Plateaux for an unforgettable view.
This two-day accompanied panoramic circumnavigation passes through mixed forests and traditional Trièves villages and hamlets, in a secluded setting but always under the eye of Mont Aiguille. It's an opportunity to learn about the history of this very special landscape, and to observe the local tree species.
A climb up to the high plateau along little-traveled paths will take you to a lookout offering a magnificent view of Mont Aiguille and the Hauts Plateaux reserve, which takes on a savannah air in summer. Now's the time to get out your binoculars and gaze at the vultures, chamois and ibex.
