Le canal de Clelles
A pleasant and refreshing little loop near the station and the Maison de Pays, with views of Mont-Aiguille and the Clelles canal for a cool moment!
A very pleasant little hike combining the landscape aspect with views of Mont-Aiguille and the freshness aspect along the curious Clelles canal dating from 1821.
Route details
Start : From the Clelles-Mens SNCF station, "La Gare" signpost just ahead!
1) Take the tarmac road opposite towards "Le Réservoir". Turn left at the farm to take the track and quickly reach the "Le Réservoir" signpost, where there's a Mont-Aiguille information desk.
2) Continue straight on towards "La Celle".
3) At the "La Celle" sign, turn right towards "Le Génie" (be careful, you'll have to cross the main road!).
4) Continue towards "Bois des Chaux", then turn left towards "Bois du Trièves".
5) Follow the canal towards "Bois de l'Hote", cross the main road again (be careful!) and continue to follow the canal towards "Mailletère" on a pleasant path.
6) At "Mailletère", follow the track downhill and turn left to return to the "Le Réservoir" signpost.
7) All that remains is to return to "la gare" to get back to your starting point.
