Morestel Cloth Measure
This large flat stone engraved with perpendicular lines has been identified as a cloth measure, but it is difficult to determine its date and exact purpose.
The cloth measure can be found in the market building with the grain and wine measures and weights. It was probably used by the authorities as a standard system to fight against "fraudulent measurements" before the metric system emerged.
