Mountain bike circuit - The wood of Cessieu
This circuit will delight the amateurs of elevation gain. Technical and pleasant loop with many passages in undergrowth on paths, views on the Vercors, the Chartreuse and the Mont-Blanc.
From the Champ de Mars car park in Cessieu, follow the yellow marks and the following crossroads:
Champ Robert > Les communaux > Les Guerres > Le Calvaire > Notre-Dame de Bonne Conduite > Le Gayet > Bonnard > L'Enfer > Le Grand Poste > Tire-Gerbe > Rochetoirin > Laï > Le Puy > Montbertaud > La Croix de Fer > CESSIEU
The circuit starts with a beautiful ascent in undergrowth with views of the Vercors, the Chartreuse and the Mont-Blanc. Many forests to cross as well as ponds mark out the loop.
Take a break to admire the landscape at the orientation tables of Rochetoirin (to the left of the church) and of the Chapelle St-Joseph (on the heights of Cessieu).
As far as heritage is concerned, you will pass by the castle of Montceau and the Chapels St-Joseph and Notre-Dame de la Salette (Cessieu).
