Saint Pierre Church St Georges de Commiers
This church is easy to reach because it is situated next to the road in the direction of Motte d’Aveillans. This road leads to the lake of Monteynard, perhaps another nice place to make a little stop.
Founded in 1080 by the Canons of Oulx, this church dates back to the middle of the 12th century.
In the 19th century, the nave and choir were rebuilt in the neo-Romanesque style. The bell tower has several storeys, one of which features columns topped by decorated capitals.
The bell tower has been listed as a Monument Historique since 1910.
