Site of climbing of l'Encoula
An area of shallow, glacier-smoothed rock slabs. Two distinct sectors: Encoula and Barfly.
Start on foot from Les Etages, follow the road for 3kms, then take the footbridge over the old campsite. (In summer, the shuttle bus drops you off 5 minutes before the footbridge).
From there, head up the left bank of the Vénéon for about 1.5 km towards Chardon, Pilatte.
At the waterfall, turn left: the Barfly sector is 20 minutes away on a steep slope. Vegetation can be dense. The route starts on the left almost as soon as the path reaches the foot of the cliff (18 engraved on the rock, no paint).
