Timber framework in Morestel
This structure of ancient design stands about thirty metres from its original position. The old warehouse was spotted by an "Architecte des Bâtiments de France" (official national heritage architect), who requested that it be moved to a more prominent position.
For many years it was incorrectly thought to be an old drying shed for wood or tobacco. (Tobacco has been cultivated in the region for a long time). Nowadays, this decorative timber framework is a wonderful demonstration of the carpentry expertise of the past.
