A family nature walk around Lemps Pond
Before your visit
This trail passes through a Sensitive Natural Area: it is important to be discreet, respectful and quiet so as not to disturb the wildlife. No rubbish must be left along the route, and picking plants is prohibited.
Take the family on a walk along the Étang de Lemps loop trail in Optevoz. This nature trail, featuring nine information panels, invites you to discover one of the most beautiful Special Areas of Conservation in Isère and the riches of this unspoilt wetland.
Throughout the walk, young and old alike can explore the diversity of this natural environment: reed beds, dry grasslands, hedgerows, ponds and panoramic views of the Molards de l’Isle-Crémieu. The path is largely shaded, making it ideal for hot days.
During your visit to the observatory, keep your eyes peeled ! With a little patience and discretion, you’ll be able to spot numerous birds, dragonflies and butterflies and, if the sun is shining, the famous European pond turtle, the iconic turtle of the Balcons du Dauphiné.
The trail also provides an insight into the site’s history, water management, changes in the agricultural landscape, and the importance of hedgerows, flower-rich meadows and ponds for the conservation of the 283 animal and plant species that have been recorded there !
