A real window onto nature, the Étang de Lemps observation point offers a superb view of the reedbed. Watch birds, dragonflies and, with a bit of luck, the European pond turtle, without disturbing the wildlife.

You can admire numerous species of birds, watch the dragonflies in flight or, on warm, sunny days, spot the European pond turtle, the pond’s iconic species.

Depending on the season, the songs of the reed warblers, the passage of herons or the comings and goings of kingfishers also set the pace at this prime birdwatching spot.

Open to everyone, the observatory is a must-visit for photographers and nature lovers.

A pair of binoculars and a few minutes’ patience are often all it takes to experience a genuine moment of connection with the biodiversity of the Balcons du Dauphiné.

Inside the observatory, an interactive wheel shows you which birds are present depending on the month of your visit. Give it a spin, keep your eyes peeled… and set off in search of the species that nest, overwinter or simply stop off at the Étang de Lemps.
